Awards are focused on providing opportunities for accomplished mental health professionals to implement a “dream project” that will have significant impact for the people and nonprofits they serve.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year the foundation approved 9 proposals from mental health professionals. Among those receiving support were Open Paths Counseling Center, enabling them to launch a new psychoeducational support group designed specifically for black parents to address mental health concerns associated with having pre-term babies. The Ocean Discovery Institute will pilot a new program to provide much needed mental health services to high school students in their educational programs. Alzheimer’s Orange County is setting up a series of “Day Away” respite events that will enable family members caring for individuals with memory disorders a chance to step out of their usual life and routine of caretaking.<\/p>\n

Each year the foundation awards up to $15,000 to mental health, healthcare and education professionals for the Vision Initiatives Program. The next application deadline is for health care professionals on October 13, 2023.
